It's Around the Corner

He warned her. She was too reckless. Dora looked him directly in the eyes and acknowledged that he had spoken, but his words had no relevance to her. She was too far gone to appreciate the ramifications. Life, to her, was about the experience and never about the consequences. Cause and effect were about to be a new phenomenon for her.  One bad decision after the other had led her to this point and he wasn’t around now to save her. As she suddenly remembered his face, his words rang in her ears. Dora became nostalgic. She didn’t know it was an omen.
