We've Been Here Before

I was both amazed and relieved at the sight of the stela. Our journey around the globe to brave the Sahara and the dusty ancient ruins buried beneath it proved to be fruitful. In brilliant colors, the image in my dreams stared back at me. And though I had seen it in recurring dreams since childhood, like a distant memory, there was still something about it that I couldn’t quite access. My eyes locked on the younger version of my face and the profile of my daughter.  The scene was reminiscent of the many times I sat braiding her hair. Carved in stone for eternity, it seems as if this has been our custom for ages.
