New Day Energy
Atop a hill of newly blossomed bluebonnets, we stood overlooking the ruined city of our captivity. There was no sadness among us. Awash in disease and pestilence, our former oppressors pleaded for us to save them. Once before, our humanity deceived us into thinking we could save them from themselves. We intervened in their extinction and tried to civilize them with the knowledge of the ages only to have them turn against us. Some say they were not mature enough to understand; others say they were corrupt from conception. Either way, hope disillusioned us into thinking more of them that we should have. This time we got out of the way and let them implode. The wise among us cautioned to not revel in their demise. Our energy was best projected into building a future without them.
