The Hurt He Gives

Thinking of him, I am unsettled

In a place that is both familiar yet unkind

Hurt

The ground beneath me gives way to

Legs that quiver uncontrollably

Trying to get steady

My heart races with measured breaths

Misery in my chest as blood nervously pulsates

through the veins of

My weak arms, my weak hands

My selfishly weak man

Suffers no consequence

For a betrayal

Of trust

That I must forgive

To be done with him and this pain
