Sistahood

I often hear other women delight in the fact they don’t get along with other “females.”  I never quite understand that proclamation. Not only do I have sisters and a host of cousins, but I have been blessed with a ton of friends. From kindergarten to law school to each job that I have ever had to church activities and hobbies, I have always walked away with at least one good friend. In this sisterhood, I have found kindred spirits, confidantes, and ride or die comrades in many of life’s adventures.  We have laughed together and cried together too. We have plotted revenge and talked each other off the ledge a time or two as well. (Thank The Most High that we have grown and evolved.) We have celebrated each other in marriage and the birth of our children and comforted each other through divorce, breakups and the loss of some our parents.  Over many glasses of wine, we have shared our secrets and our aspirations. It is this circle of support that has helped to keep me sane throughout this wondrous thing called life.
