No Bark All Bite

To top it off, we’d lost three people in the last two months. It’s hard to keep unsatisfied people still.  Ambition and hunger are great motivators.  Given these circumstances, Cynthia’s coup was well-planned but ill-timed.  Browning, pressed by the directors, was trying his best to keep his team under the radar. He was blindsided by Cynthia’s blatant attempt to get him fired. The impromptu one-on-ones and public chiding by Derrick nearly sent him over the edge. They were fooled by his dispassion.  Regrettably, they mistook it weakness. As Cynthia would be the first to find out, Browning was not disinterested at all. He was merely trying to keep the pit on the leash. Now that he was backed into a corner, he had no choice but to come out biting.
