A Moment of Weakness

.... People walked by oblivious to Sheva and her predicament. One by one, they passed by, worry free, talking and laughing, while she sat on the curb deciding whether to live or die. Death was the easy choice considering her circumstances. Her life was unraveling and she felt powerless to stop it. Silently, she wondered how she ended up in this place. Hurting, hopeless, and for the first time in her life, alone. Five years ago, when all was well, she could have talked herself out of this funk. She would have told herself to forget him and that job. Move on. A lot had happened since then. She had lost too much. In her weakened state, she was holding on to the memories, no matter how horrible or toxic just to keep from floating away. thoughts of ended it all appealed to her and brought her dangerously close to the edge...
