Alone

Alone in their bed, she recalled the warmth of his presence and the comfort of his embrace. The place where he once slept beside her was now cold and empty. Jane could not make peace with his absence.Without a word, he'd left her filled with pain, doubt and insecurity. Though he never voiced it, she knew that he loved her. She was not aware that he didn't trust her. Unbeknownst to her, he had given her a window, a small sliver of time to prove herself. Unknowingly, she had failed every single one of his unspoken tests. Mainly out of ignorance. If only he had given her a chance, he might realized that she truly loved him. He was asking the impossible. He wanted her to love someone that neither of them really knew.
